Kinsley-Offerle Elementary Teachers Receive
Midwest Energy Community Funds
Six KOES teachers applied for and received donations totaling $1550 from the Midwest Energy Community Fund spring disbursement. These funds will be used to purchase AR books and quizzes, a reading table, listening center equipment, music resources and more. Those teachers requesting and receiving funding were: Lynette Anderson, Mary Ann Schinstock, Connie Jantzen, Theresa Medina, Lisa Ebert and Laura Stegman. Over 260 organizations total submitted applications for the awards.
The Midwest Energy Community Fund was created in 2005. Five committees of Midwest Energy customers determine who receives the awards ranging from $50 to $500. The committees can direct funds to activities that focus on youth, arts, education, libraries, community events or other priorities they choose.
The Midwest Community Fund awards grants twice a year; application deadlines are March 1 and September 1. Applications are being accepted now for disbursements in the fall of 2010. Any organizations requesting donations should contact their local Midwest Energy office or log on to www.mwenergy.com for more information.
