KOES Students "ROCKED" the Tests

Students from Kinsley-Offerle Elementary in grades 3 – 6 will be bowling on April 28!!! Why? Because according to preliminary test scores, all grade levels met and/or exceeded the requirements for meeting AYP – Adequate Yearly Progress – on the recent KS Assessments in both Reading and Math! And, the bowling party is a thank you for all of their hard work!
This year, the guidelines from the State Department of Education for meeting AYP in Reading required that 83.7% of all tested students scored well enough to “Meet Standards”; while 82.3% of all tested students had to “Meet Standards” in Math. Preliminary results by grade level show the following percents of students “at or above Meeting Standards” – 3rd grade: Reading – 96%, Math – 100%; 4th grade: Reading – 100%, Math – 94%; 5th grade: Reading – 86%, Math – 100%; and 6th grade: Reading – 89%, Math – 89%.
It is anticipated that the “Standard of Excellence” was also achieved in Math and/or Reading by most grade levels, so KOES students plan to hold Mr. Davies to his promise of that water balloon fight in May!
KOES students, along with their teachers, are to be congratulated for their success!
