KOES Second Graders enjoyed a visit from Extension Agent Melissa Schlegel to learn about Earth Day. Mrs. Schlegel read Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax and shared with students the importance of keeping our Earth clean and healthy. The students learned that recycling is one way they can help to keep the Earth clean and healthy. They also learned about the importance of trees in our environment. Each student was presented with a Lacebark Elm bare-root seedling, to take home and plant or share with a family member, a friend, or a neighbor if it was not need at the student’s house. Thank you, Mrs. Schlegel, for sharing your knowledge with us!
