- Determination to succeed
Awards
The scholarship awards are based on financial need and will vary in size from $1,000-$6,000. Last year was an exceptional year in that we doubled the number of students who receive our scholarship. This year we will only be awarding 40 scholarships, so we would appreciate your help by encouraging only students who meet the financial qualifications to apply for this need-based scholarship. The following are tips to help your students determine if they fall within our definition of financial need and to help them navigate the FAFSA Summary section of the application.

Craft and plant scholarship opportunities
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a Kansas resident
- Must be a graduating High School Senior or must have graduated the previous year
- Must pursue a degree in Electric Power and Distribution in Kansas
- Must be eligible to obtain a Commercial Driver's License
- Must enroll as a full-time student in a degree program (not required to be enrolled prior to scholarship award, but must be a full-time student in degree program to receive award)
- Must maintain 2.5 G.P.A. during degree program
- If 18 years old, must be willing to submit to a Motor Vehicle Records Check (drug free with no DUI convictions)

Applications are now available for the Dr. James Bredfeldt, MD Scholarship. Scholarship will be determined by the KHS staff and could be to one student, two, or three. Pursuits may include a vocational technology program, 2 year college, or a 4 year college. See Ms. Burkhart for application.
